Emergency Situations

FCs are the first point of contact in any emergency situation. An FC is always available during Normal Operation Mode (while there is active beam available to Users).  All permanent FCs are trained in CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid as well as fire extinguisher use. It is the duty of the FC to be prepared and trained to handle any situation calmly and safely.

In addition to this, the FCs also act as the Assistant Chief Warden in emergency situations that occur outside of normal office hours (i.e. after 4:30pm on weekdays, all hours on weekends, and holidays). As such, it is their responsibility to assist the Chief Warden where needed and aid the emergency services personnel upon their arrival. They are the first contact with arriving emergency services, and must inform them of any potential hazards or injuries.

For all of the above reasons it is strongly encouraged that if a User is facing an emergency of a medical or otherwise potentially harmful nature that they call the Floor Coordinator immediately and allow them to contact 911 or the proper authorities.
