Troubleshooting FAQ
Q. How do I get my data home?
A. The most convenient method is to bring a USB drive with you and use the automated archiver script. See details in the Data Transfer and Backup section.
Q. How can I view an image file or the header information of an image file?
A. This is discussed int the Viewing Images section
Q. The images in MXDC are not being updated to the latest image from the detector. What should I do?
A. Just below the diffraction image window there is a button that selects for the current image to be displayed as the data collection progresses. Ensure that it is selected. By default it is on.

Q. How can I obtain a copy of XDS?
A. It can be downloaded from the XDS website.
Q. What is the closest distance the detector can move to the sample?
A. The detector can get as close as 100 mm on the 08ID-1 beamline

A. Call the floor coordinator at "3639".
Q. How do I get a strategy from Autoprocess?
A. After collecting five degrees, type autoprocess -s [filename] (where filename is the name of the FIRST image file of the set).
Q. I pressed the wrong button after injection and accidently opened the POE! What do I do?
A. There is no reason to enter the POE during normal data collection. However, if you accidently press the "Main Door Open" button on the POE-2 panel (instead of the Front-End safety shutter open button), you will need to secure the POE before you can close it again and open the shutters.
Like the SOE, the POE is secured by pressing two Enclosure Search buttons, located at opposite ends of the interior of the POE.
