SPEC Short Manual

The SPEC short manual is a condensed version of the complete SPEC Manual.  SPEC is a command based program that is used to control motors and to run specific scanning sequences. The manual contains quick guides to commands and macro design for motor movement and scanning.

Microprobe User Guide

This is a quick guide for set up and use of the microprobe.  It contains detailed procedures for start up, setting the 4 element vortex detector, editing the ROI file, running microscans and using XAS GUI.  The guide is complete with flowcharts, screenshots, diagrams and pictures.

 IDA User Documentation

The IDA is a key piece of software for running XAFS experiments. It is the User's primary toolbox for taking data. Some other related secondary software is also described in the IDA manual. The manual is under continuous update and User's comments are welcome.

 XAFS User Software Manual

The XAFS User software is instrumental to getting good results in an XAFS experiment at HXMA. It provides controls for our Huber slits, the gains on the ion chambers, even some data collection configurations. It would benefit a user greatly to have seen some of what is in this manual before running

The Saturn and Vortex Detectors

This is a very long and detailed manual made specifically as an aid to using these fluorescence detectors. Beyond the basic hardware setup, this manual dives into the software setups, and even discusses several possible problems a user may encounter. If a user is planning a fluorescence experiment it may be wise to at least get briefly acquainted with this manual before arriving on site.
